There are a fair few things to remember when booking a venue to place your marquee, some of which are listed below:
The Ground
When choosing a venue make sure that the ground the marquee will be erected on is suitable, if you go to see the venue on a dry day make sure you ask if the area is liable to flood. As we all know the British weather is very unpredictable so you don't want to be caught out! The ground will also need to be as level as possible or tables and chairs in the venue will be on an angle which could make things tricky.
Power
A must for any marquee especially if you are having a DJ or Band is electricity, if the venue is unable to provide power a generator is the only option.
Parking
A lot of the time people over look parking, people tend to get carried away looking at the site and forget the parking. Most people will drive to a wedding reception or party so you have to think that most cars will have between 2-4 people in it and these cars will have to go somewhere. It is always best to find a venue which has either a gravel or tarmac car park so people don't get stick if it is a wet day.
Toilets
Remember not all venues provide toilets in the packages, so make sure you make this a priority inquiry, you may need to find a toilet hire company for the occasion.
Hotels
Are they any local hotels in the area, if you're having your special occasion out of the way and if a lot of your guests are going to be drinking then they may need accommodation for the evening? It could be an idea to contact hotels close to your venue and let them know about your special event it could be possible to get discounts on rooms for yourself and your guests.
