Business Event: Hire a Marquee

A marquee is one of the most important items in an event planner’s checklist. Marquees serve many functions in business events and are great investments for companies who regularly hold outdoor events such as marketing or promotional events, recruitment drives, trade shows, product launches or sporting events.

Minimise Event Risks
The greatest risk in holding an outdoor event is bad weather. Rain, thunderstorm or windy conditions are the greatest nightmare for every event planner. Bad weather can potentially ruin an event regardless of how well-planned or how well-attended it is. The stakes can be extremely high especially when an event’s success is critical to a company’s profit margin or reputation.

Marquees are necessary event tools for any outdoor event. When holding an event in an outdoor field, stadium or park, marquees provide shelter against the hot glare of the sun or the drizzle of rain. They are easy to store, to install and come in all shapes and sizes. Most marquees require only the efforts of one or two persons to install and take less than five minutes of assembly time.

Branding and Positioning
Marquees are more than just physical structures they can also be symbolic representations of a company’s branding or positioning in the event. Many companies print their company names, logos, branding or marketing taglines on their marquees. They can be great tools to attract potential customers and visitors to a company’s booth or stall during a recruitment event, trade show, exhibition or fair. Many company use attractive bright colours on their marquees to stand out from the crowd and to gain an upper hand on their competitors. Whether it is an indoor or outdoor event, marquees help to position a company’s presence and participation at the event.

Business-like Setting
Marquees also enable companies to conduct their business discussions or interview candidates during an outdoor event in complete privacy. Many marquees come in complete framework and four-sided panels that provide enclosed space for private and undisturbed business discussions or meetings. These private spaces can help filter off the noisy surroundings and enable employees to work ‘on site’ more efficiently.

Convenience
Companies can have the option of hiring a marquee that comes with furniture, display shelves or fittings for their events. This enables event planners to plan the interior setting and layout of their outdoor booth or stall so that they can have matching furniture and the right amount of space for the intended purpose of the event. A well-designed event setting also helps to elevate a company’s image and create a good impression on its potential customers.
